Overwatch received an update on May, 3 2018 with some hero nerfs/buffs and also a new escort map. Let's take a look at the entirety of the update, starting with changes that were made to some of the heroes.
BRIGITTE
- Cone angle from Shield Bash reduced from 90 to 60 degrees.
GENJI
- Deflect hit box size was reduced.
Before the update, Genji would sometimes deflect projectiles that were pretty far away from him.
HANZO
- Storm Arrow projectile speed increased from 85 to 100.
- Sonic Arrow cooldown reduced from 20 seconds to 12 seconds, duration decreased from 10 seconds to 6 seconds, and radius decreased from 10 meters to 7 meters.
- can now Lunge in the air horizontally with the space bar.
The changes for Hanzo were implemented to allow him to have a more connsistent damage output while also resolving the frustration around the Scatter Shot.
JUNKRAT
- Frag launcher projectile size decreaed from 0.3 to 0.2
- Rip Tire movement speed decreased from 13 to 12.
These changes were brought in to take care of some of the frustrations when playing against Junkrat.
LUCIO
- Wall riding is less likely to be interrupted while on a single surface.
- Can now wall ride around corners.
- Can now land back on the same wall after leaping away while performing a wall ride.
- Added a limited time that the jump key must be held before Lucio can ride around corners.
- Soundwave no longer consumes ammo and can be used while reloading.
Wall ride has been given such a huge overhaul to allow play to use it more smoothly in different areas of the maps.
TRACER
- Pulse bomb max damage decreased from 400 to 300.
Pulse bomb was too powerful against tanks, especially with their large size.
